Every hunt. Your state permit on your phone and printed. Hunter education card. Photo ID. Boots you have already broken in. A headlamp with fresh batteries. A cooler big enough for boned-out meat. A camera.
Archery deer. Bow tuned and sighted. Six broadheads. A full-body safety harness, no exceptions on ladder stands. Scent-control layers for 25 to 60 degrees. A rangefinder. A small pack for the stand.
Firearms deer. Rifle sighted in at 100 yards, with 20 rounds. Blaze orange hat and vest, required for everyone in the field. Shooting sticks or a bipod. Layers for 15 to 50 degrees and wind.
Spring turkey. Shotgun patterned at 40 yards or a bow. Full camouflage including face mask and gloves. A seat cushion. Rain shell. Bug spray by late April.
Cabin. Linens, kitchen and coffee are there. Bring food, drinks, and anything you need for your own cooking. Cell coverage is fair. Wi-Fi is available for check-ins.
Leave home. Bait, mineral blocks with additives, and feeders. Missouri treats a site as baited for 10 days after bait is removed. Everything on the property is already set up legally.
