Tondo Waldron

Tondo has sold farm, hunting and recreational land across Kansas and Missouri since 2012, first with Whitetail Properties and since 2019 as Principal Broker of Heartland Advantage Land Sales, a Realtree United Country office. He has personally bought more than 2,000 acres for income and wildlife habitat and writes about land stewardship for Realtree.

He grew up without a television, surrounded by state forest and farmland, and spent that time learning the ground and what lives on it. He is a Kansas State University graduate, married 26 years, with two sons and two daughters.

Time4Thrills is the property he manages for himself, opened to a small number of hunters and guests each season.

The ground

Two properties, one standard.

The home property is 1,200 contiguous acres near Liberal in Barton County, Missouri, on the Kansas line two hours south of Kansas City. Creek timber, native grass, crop fields, food plots and duck water laid out for hunting first. The cabin sleeps two and sits on the place, with covered parking, laundry and a hot shower open to everyone in camp. Ponds hold crappie, bass, catfish and bluegill.

The second tract is 100 acres near La Cygne in Linn County, Kansas, an hour south of Kansas City. It hunts deer, turkey, predators and upland birds under Kansas permits. No waterfowl, no lodging on site.

Hunter count is capped at ten per week at Liberal and four at La Cygne. Two setups per hunter, and Tondo in the truck. A gunsmith who is part of the venture keeps a range on the property, and game is skinned, processed and, for mounts, delivered to a local taxidermist.
